My personal 50 cents.
I personally find this concept really good (btw, there’s nothing new or revolutionary; the idea is simple: encapsulation).
Why it can be useful for us:
We care about the module; it's the public interface, and we don't care much about the implementation.
As agents generate tons of code, we can't keep up with reading it (still worth trying, but understand me).
We are capable of reading the interface carefully and understanding what the module does.
It can help us
- to do code review (pay more attention to boundaries and interfaces rather than just code).
- to share and explain ideas.
- to feel that we still have control over our codebase :slightly_smiling_face:
I think the toast feature is a great example:
- It's easy to explain the idea.
- Easy to explain boundaries
- I don't care how they're implemented internally if we have an agreed public interface and boundaries
